As the first step, information already collected on the Finnish and Soviet/Russian theses was combined (sources: FinALD40 exhibition, ML essay)---thank you Oksana for doing this. Currently, the list contains 134 doctoral theses. Next step is to update the list with theses from other countries: for example, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Estonia, Germany, France, Korea, India, Japan, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States... (excuses already for the countries missing from the list).
We are collecting info on theses to be added in a Google Sheets file, VPHA-thesis-to-be-added. You find a link to it here: http://vph-ald.com/VPHAopenfiles.html, it is in the last bullet under the main item VPHA-ALD-thesis-list. This is a file that everyone can edit without any registration, and everyone is welcome to add missing items. Please fill as much of the info as you can:
- Year
- Author name
- Thesis name in English
- Language of the thesis
- Thesis name in original language (optional)
- University
- City
- Country
- # of pages (if known, without appendices)
- # of pages, with appendices (if known)
- Source of information (this is optional)
- Link to pdf of thesis, if available
- Other notes (optional - you can e.g. write down here the name of the person who added the info)
It would be great if we could have a complete list at least up to 1986, which is the general time limit for VPHA. If we can make the list complete until, e.g., the end of year 2016, that would be still much greater. Everyone's input is welcome for building the list. Would you like to add items but for some reason cannot edit the Google Sheets file (it is really easy), you can also send the details to info@ vph-ald.com.
